Fungidal-HC
For the targeted treatment of inflamed skin conditions where infections by microorganisms and inflammation coexist, such as intertrigo and infected eczema. Suitable for both damp or dry eczema, including atopic eczema, primary irritation, contact allergic dermatitis, and seborrheic eczema, including those associated with acne. Also suitable for inflammatory interigo, perianal, and genital dermatitis. Miconazole effectively treats dermatophytes and yeasts like Candida spp., as well as many Gram-positive bacteria, including strains of Streptococcus and Staphylococcus.
Pharmacology:
Miconazole, a substituted imidazole from the azole family, treats superficial candidiasis, skin conditions like dermatophytosis, and pityriasis Versicolor, acanthamoeba, and seborrheic dermatitis. It’s also effective against Aspergillus spp., Cryptococcus neoformans, Pseudalescheria boydii, and various gram-positive bacteria, including Staphylococci and Streptococci.
Hydrocortisone, a synthetic glucocorticoid, addresses skin issues such as inflammation and has antipruritic, antimycotic, and vasoconstrictive properties. Miconazole, an antifungal agent, alters the cell membrane permeability of sensitive fungi by disrupting ergosterol synthesis, leading to their elimination. Hydrocortisone, when applied to the skin, is absorbed into skin cells, preventing the release of inflammation-causing chemicals.
